O nome dessa banda é um atributo da mais pura ironia. Poderia significar, segundo as expressões mais conservadoras ou extremistas, a necessidade de algumas cidades na américa latina ou oriente médio. A intriga inicial que o nome do grupo causa é seguido de espanto em relação às extruturas musicais em "Animals", embora, em sua execução, o This Town Needs Guns esbanje simplicidade.
